Over the past few years, I’ve constantly re-evaluated where the Ballroom is and where we wanted to go. The one goal that has been constant; offer high quality food and service to create a very memorable and beautiful affair for couple and families that hold their event at our facility while also offering a great value. When I was approached by local restaurant, The Broadway Grille & Pub, we sat down and talked about how our team at the Ballroom combined with their team in the kitchen could offer just that. And so, it is with great excitement that I announce that The Broadway Grille & Pub is now our exclusive caterer at the Mauch Chunk Ballroom.
With this pairing comes not only high quality food from a well trained and respected culinary artist, Zoraida Rivera, but great value. We are now offering liquor packages at amazing prices that we couldn’t before. This makes it easier for couples by eliminating the need to worry about how much liquor to provide, but without breaking the budget. And, every wedding package now comes with a complimentary champagne toast. But, while being more inclusive, we are not cookie cutter and if there are items on the menu that you don’t see offered Zoaraida is willing to accommodate, as she can make just about any dish your heart desires.
I know Zoraida is very excited about joining the Ballroom and is looking forward to our events together. When I asked her about her love for the culinary arts, this is what she said:
Since I was a young child, cooking has always been a passion for me. I collected traditional and worldwide recipes to cook for my friends and family. After obtaining a bachelor degree of Science from Kansas State University, I decided to return to my true passion of cooking and went to the French Culinary Institute In New York City. Being a chef has taught me a lot about nurturing, respecting and truly loving food. This love and passion can be noticeable as I prepare it, cook it and plate it. When I cook for a catering event my adrenaline is always very high; It is an art to be able to cook and plate an amazing dinner. I have cooked for many galas, for many people of all backgrounds. Everyone that sits at any of my catered events is a very important Patron to me. I choose to cook from fresh and whole locally grown foods. I continue to travel around the world for inspiration to further my culinary artistry.
I am excited to be working with The Broadway Grille & Pub and Zoraida and I look forward to meeting all of you and putting together beautiful events in our gorgeous Ballroom in the most beautiful Small Town in America!
