If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought that Tonya & Chuck hired a designer to put together their wedding. Their commitment to their vintage style was so precise and so committed. Every detail tied in beautifully and was well coordinated. But, Tonya & Chuck simply carried their everyday style into their wedding day and they did it so perfectly. It was beautiful.
Even their wedding photographs were taken vintage style on film. With the digital age, shooting on film and processing in a dark room is a dying art. Fortunately, Tonya & Chuck knew a very good friend that prefers to shoot film over digital and shot their wedding for them. All shots were taken with Kodak Porta 160, 400 or Fuji P100c by Michael Kijewsky . When looking at these photos, I feel as if this wedding took place decades ago, rather than just a few weeks ago.
The couple took advantage of the beautiful Suites available at the Inn at Jim Thorpe, and got themselves and their bridal party ready there.
Tonya’s dress was a very simple yet elegant dress that reminded me of the 1940’s. The bride found this dress on Etsy.com!
Since the couple were doing a ceremony and reception later in the evening but wanted to take advantage of daylight for beautiful photos around Jim Thorpe, they did a “First look” on the balcony at the Inn.
And then, of course, they took advantage of the many amazing photo opportunities all within walking distance of The Mauch Chunk Ballroom that included the porch of the Asa Packer Mansion and the Erwin Castle ruins along Hill Road in Jim Thorpe.
They had a beautiful and intimate candlelight ceremony presided over by their close friend, Colan followed by a cocktail reception complete with signature cocktail drinks and delicious hors’d’ouerves from Royal Gourmet Catering.
Fox and Finch Vintage rentals added beautiful and eclectic vintage furnirture to create a lounge on our stage, where the couple had a Polaroid camera with film for their Polaroid Guest Book. Chuck, who is a graphic artist by trade, created all the print work for their bar signs, welcome sign and polaroid guest book table.
It was a truly stunning wedding. Thank you Tonya & Chuck for choosing the Mauch Chunk Ballroom. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
