Getting Ready the Day of: Why the Bride should ALWAYS be Priority in the Make Up Chair

It goes without saying, or at least it should, that the wedding day is YOUR day – as a couple, of course. Ultimately , all the activities should be centered around you.   And, that includes makeup and hair.

Well , duh right?

But it sometimes happens that others around you tend to be focused on themselves.  Okay , we get it, they want to look good too.  But , their ability to get their own hair and makeup done by the hairstylist or makeup artist should be secondary to the Bride.  Case in point, at a recent wedding family members were up  and getting ready early.  The makeup artist was bombarded with hair/makeup from family members; and the Bride did not get into the chair to begin the “getting ready” process till 1/2 hour before the scheduled start of the wedding nuptials. And, the couple had first look photos still to do.  Oh boy!

The Dress Bustle: Why You NEED To Bring a Bridesmaid to Your Final Fitting.

This has been a blog I have wanted to write for so long. I get busy, and then forget… until I’m faced with the same issue at another wedding and say.. okay, this time I have to write it. Well, at one of my weddings this past October the wedding photographer (Josh of Josh Finsel and Amber Breiner Photography) captured the moment and so I knew.. this time, it would get written! So YAY! Here it is.

Bridesmaids have many things that they can and will do to help their dear friend navigate their day. But, there is one task that is really really important that I think tends  to get overlooked;  attending the Bride’s final fitting.  It may sound ridiculous, but there have been times where the Bride’s entrance has been delayed by nearly 1/2 hour because me, the bridesmaids, the bride’s mother or a combination thereof  have all been fishing for those hidden hoops and loops and buttons.

Tackling the Guest List: The Uninvited

The guest list is probably one of the most stressful areas of wedding planning for couples.  It’s especially difficult when you have a large and even extended family and friends.  For most couples, the limitations in who they can invite comes down to their budget.  And then comes the task of deciding who makes the list and who doesn’t.  This struggle often goes beyond just who the couple knows and extends into who the parents know and feel obligated to invite, like business associates, co-workers, their neighbors.  Sometimes its enough to make couples just want to forget a traditional wedding ceremony and elope.

But , lets be real. Eloping isn’t really the answer either and that would open up a whole other mess in which you’d need to deal.

Yes We Did! Some AMAZING New Inclusive Packages Added

Businesses should be an ever  growing and evolving thing, particularly when you are in a service business.  It’s important to pay  attention to cues from potential and past clients  that might clue you in on what you’re missing, what you can do better and how you can improve.  A little more than a year ago I made some pretty big and amazing changes to the Ballroom that brought our venue to a whole new level and in doing so I got to work with some pretty amazing clients and teamed with some of the areas best vendors, like Icing on the Cake and Cake Deigns by Angie for the cakes that come with every wedding package.  Over the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking hard about how I can make the experience at the Ballroom even better and bring us to the next level. Now, I’m excited to introduce some of our new, more inclusive and amazing packages we put together with some additional vendor partners  and new menus from our caterers. And, of course, introduce you to our new and improved website.
