What Does a Vendor Referral Really Mean?

There has been many conversations going on in my wedding professional circles about referrals (or preferred vendors, as its sometimes called) ; what they mean to each of us, what criteria we use to choose them, and about those  “paid” referrals.   Strangely, there seems to be both a general concensus and some confusion about what a referral is and should be.  So, I wanted to do a blog to clarify referrals to couples, so that they may have a better understanding of just what it means when a vendor gives them one and how to differentiate between referrals born out of experience with a vendor from paid referrals.

Samantha & James: High School Sweethearts

It is often rare for someone you met in high school to be the person you, years later, walk down the isle with.  But, Samantha and James, who met when Samantha was a freshman and James a Junior, did just that.  Their relationship has endured a time when many of us change and often grow apart from those we met in our teenage years.  Through college and lifes changes, these two did it together.   On May 10, 2015, they walked down the isle and became husband and wife, taking their next major  life changes once again together!

Be Careful of the “Save Money Tips” You Get from Non-Industry “Experts”

Recently , GMA did a segment with one of their newly engaged reporters on ways that she was saving money on her destination wedding.  I hadn’t seen it when it aired, however, I did hear about it on social media from other wedding professionals that I network with. Shannon & Ray – Rustic Christmas Wedding

Christmas is my favorite holiday so you can imagine how happy I was to have Shannon & Ray book their December 28th wedding at our Ballroom.  Their love for camping and the outdoors was reflected in their rustic outdoor theme.

The couple got married at St. Mark’s Church on Race Street.  Very little deocrations were needed, as they were already set up with Christmas trees.  It’s a beautiful church made even more beautiful by Christmas deocrations.

Real Weddings: Josh & Amanda 10/13/13

Josh and Amanda came to me via an email.  Both were stationed in different locations somewhere in Afganistan.  They were looking to get married in December, when both of them would be back in the U.S between deployments and they were looking to get married near family , that live in or around Pennsylvania.  Needless to say, we would have to plan a wedding via email and so the planning began.
