bgp_logoOver the past few years, I’ve constantly re-evaluated where the Ballroom is and where we wanted to go. The one goal that has been constant; offer  high quality food and service to create a very memorable and beautiful affair for couple  and families that hold their event  at our facility while also offering a great value.  When I was approached by local restaurant, The Broadway Grille & Pub, we sat down and talked about how our team at the Ballroom combined with their team in the kitchen could offer just that.  And so, it is with great excitement that I announce that The Broadway Grille & Pub is now our exclusive caterer at the Mauch Chunk Ballroom.

The guest list is probably one of the most stressful areas of wedding planning for couples.  It’s especially difficult when you have a large and even extended family and friends.  For most couples, the limitations in who they can invite comes down to their budget.  And then comes the task of deciding who makes the list and who doesn’t.  This struggle often goes beyond just who the couple knows and extends into who the parents know and feel obligated to invite, like business associates, co-workers, their neighbors.  Sometimes its enough to make couples just want to forget a traditional wedding ceremony and elope.

But , lets be real. Eloping isn’t really the answer either and that would open up a whole other mess in which you’d need to deal.

Many of us can’t imagine what it must be like to loose a child.  I know I would want to just crawl and hide myself away from the world.  But that is not what the Susko family has done.  Instead, they choose to honor their daughters “bad ass” spirit and raise money to help those charities and organizations that helped Ana and her family during her battle with childhood brain cancer.  And so, on her birthday, her parents threw the ultimate birthday party that did just that.

Kelly & Frank’s  11*1*14 Ballroom Wedding

Kelly & Frank had their ceremony at the Anita Shapolsky Gallery across the street from the Mauch Chunk Ballroom.   Of course, I was on hand to help the with their rehearsal the day before, and the ceremony the day of.  Kelly and some of her family were staying next door in the Vicotiran Mansion that is available for rent and sleeps 12. It’s a beautiful spot that offers some great photo opportunities and a comfortable location for the bride and her bridal party to get ready.
